Help! Need to know how and where you got the 7" vinyl of Expressway to your Heart w/Southside Johnny on one side and Koko Hunter's 'Evil' on the other side It's listed in your collectibles page of personal SSJ stuff. ...
One of the great items I've found on eBay over the years. The seller was from England or Amsterdam -- I don't think that single was ever released here in the states. ---sly

It was fun having the two of you last night!! hehehe. I love that black, under-the-bust bodice! Gimme, gimee! i want one. I figure if they're focused on my busom, they may not pay as much attention to my figure! :-) Can you teach me some new bawdy tunes?!?
Bodice was from pendragoncostumes.com. I love their stuff and have 5 of their bodices. As for the songs -- I love to sing bawdy songs and I enjoy researching them. Search the internet for bawdy songs and you'll find far more than you bargained for! If you ever come up to Northern VA, look me up! ---sly

I haven't had much time for cakes lately -- perhaps it's a hobby I'll pick back up in a few years. ---sly

You know, after seeing the In Our Cups site, I was about to offer to send you all sorts of pictures of you singing and Greg playing (luckily I found this site before I made a fool of myself). Thanks for sharing your knowledge with a Ren newbie (both Ren-related and web-related; your sites have given me some ideas to research) Look forward to seeing you again at VaRF.
Cross your fingers that there will be a VARF to return to. ---sly

Speaking of which I noticed your name is on the 'Lost But Not Forgotten' list for our reunion. What's up? Not planning on making the trek? Let me know if you want the reunion update info.

Belen's Sister
Signed on 11/19/2002
My sister's name is Belen and she had that exact same Powerpuff Girls cake made for her birthday. She posted it on the internet too on her homepage and passed it around to her friends through AOL instant messenger. I would not be surprised if you took her picture because I know you are not the one who made her cake and I doubt that there are many other people with her name and that exact same cake. VERY UNLIKELY.
I beg to differ. Belen's mother is a coworker of mine and I have done several cakes for their family - including the lattice design wedding cake. The design was based off of the PowerPuff napkins she had bought for Belen's party though - and I'm sure I'm not the only person to make a buttercream transfer based off that picture. Get over yourself. -- sly

I just finished a Wilton cake decorating course. I am curious how you did the background on your Curious George cake and how you made the grapes & leaves on the winery cake.
I used a cake comb on buttercream for the background, and made the grape from fondant. The small grapes were made using a mold and the larger ones were made by hand. -- sly

Hey Sly, You're not going to believe why I'm writing you. I was sitting here at work, and out of the blue I was hit with a pang of guilt. About 25 years ago at a bar in OKC I saw Little Imo play. I was a hot-shot guitar player and went to check out this little dude. I wasn't impressed. I remember sitting at a table right up front and watching him do the best he could, while I sipped my beer with a dour face. It took only a short while before the little guy was affected. I clearly remember him trying to rock out, and I was sucking his energy away, making him self-concious. I feel kind of sick thinking about it. Anyway, my web search found only one reference to this guy: your collection of stuff in which you list a 1977 poster of him at the Armadillo. Do you know anything about him or what ever became of him? Anybody out there know anything about him? That's it. Crazy, ain't it?

Oh, well... I was actually hoping to e-mail you about this and that, and see what you think of my poetry, some of which is posted on a friend's site... http://narac.tripod.com/SlyM.html anyhow, Cheers!
Ya know -- anyone who writes that many poems about Kix cereal may require professional help. Seriously -- one should never be judged by their poetry. Heck, the poetry I have posted on this website is mostly the overly dramatic, self-indulgent crap I wrote over 20 years ago. I keep it out there to remind me of how melodramatic I was back in college. -- sly

So... I'm sly, so are you. I thougt it would be interesting to see what a webCrawler search of my name would turn up, and this is certainly that. But... I haven't time to look at it all righ tnow, as ... well, long story, but, the short, Short bio goes like this: West-coast Canadian Ballet Dancer, finished his first full year contract in the capital of Estonia, but will be with a different company in central Estonia in a week. I can't wait to look at the rest of your site!
wow -- sounds like a very different life than mine. Always nice to hear from another 'sly' though. Now, if only you were a redhead too.... -- sly

hmmm.... my advice is to search sites like eBay. That's where I find lots of my Jukes memorabilia. -- sly

wow! very cool site!! i've never written before, nor did we meet at jukestock, but i do recognize seeing you there after browsing over your pics. i wish i'd stumbled upon your site sooner. i'm quite interested in your bootlegs. the only tradeable i have is a video i shot of the jukes in '90 or '91 when they played the nj state fair at the garden state racetrack (jon bon jovi sat in with the band for both sets). i recorded about 17 songs (with a few breaks here and there), and the videography is pretty amateurish (due in large part to the fact that this amateur poured down quite a few heinekens that eve), but the sound is pretty good. if you're interested, i can put together a copy for a trade. i'll also get back to you about ordering some other boots, too. again, really cool site - nice job! jeff /columbia, md
My, for someone who's never written, you sure have much to say!! I'll have to check and see if I have that video -- so many of the videos I have just aren't worth watching a second time. (Except for that Impact release from 92 -- I watch that one over and over!) As for browsing through my pics -- I've heard some great comments from SSJ fans regarding the renaissance faire pictures. Apparently, I'm the only "Jukes Rennie" around.   LOL -- sly
