EASYBISC.TXT EASY BISCUIT MIX 6 cups all purpose flour 4 cups whole wheat flour 1/3 cup baking powder 1/4 cup sugar 2 cups shortening 2 tsp salt 1. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. 2. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mix looks like fine crumbs. 3. Put in an airtight container. This mix will keep 6 weeks at room temperature or 6 months in the freezer. EASY BISCUITS For each 4 biscuits: 1 cup easy biscuit mix 1/4 cup milk 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. 2. Put mix in a bowl and make a well in the center. 3. Add the milk and stir with a fork until dough just clings together. 4. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough gently for 12 strokes. 5. Roll or pat the dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2 inch cutter dipped in flour between cuts. 6. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown.
